Welcome Aboard!

                                                                   About Us

Black Women Boater’s Club was established in 2019. Its Founder Tracey Tate came up with the idea to share important boating information among other female boaters.

In 2019 Tracey Tate and Co-founder Kelly Terrell fueled by their passion for the water started a Facebook page that consisted of five members. BWBC mission is to create the ultimate boating experience by consistently providing information to female boaters on boater safety, maintenance, navigation and giving back to our community.

The goal is to make boating fun but safe. Also giving women the educational tools they need to be able to man their own vessel without needing help. In December of 2021 BWBC held their first annual Toy Drive that was very successful. This summer  BWBC
will  be working with underprivileged children introducing girls and boys to boating, swimming and fishing. BWBC goal is to expose our youth to water activities that they normally would never be exposed too.

Boating has always been a man’s sport therefore woman are the minority. There aren’t that many black women captains in the United States this is why it is important to BWBC to make sure that we educate one another on water rules, safety and navigation. This will help minimize the loss of life, personal injury, property damage and any negative environmental impact that comes along with recreational boats.
